Oyster Stew

Ingredients

1 1/2 tablespoons flour

1 1/2 teaspoons salt

Dash Tabasco

2 tablespoons cold water

1 pint small oysters, with liquid

1/4 cup butter

2 cups milk, scalded

1 cup cream

Dash paprika

Directions

Combine first four ingredients and blend well in a sauce pan. Stir in oysters with liquid and butter. Simmer 5 minutes on low heat. Add milk and cream and heat through. Let stand off the heat for 15 minutes to blend flavors. Reheat and serve in heated bowls. Top with paprika. Serve with oyster crackers sprinkled in.

Makes 4 servings.
